February 28, 2014 Classical Indian Wedding

The marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Manish Kakar's was one of the most memorable events that we have ever had the pleasure of hosting. The traditional Indian ceremony was held at sunset at the historic Dana Point Yacht Club overlooking a stunningly calm and serene harbor after hours of non-stop stormy weather.

In fact, the fire circling ceremony known as "fehre" was initially planned for outside, but with the waves flooding the entire balcony, the staff at the Yacht Club worked ferociously along with the family of the bride the morning of the wedding to create a stage and environment that was arguably better than the original.

Even without the ceremony, the reception afterwards alone warrants this wedding as one of the most fun and crazy events in GrooveBox Entertainment's decade-long history. It included everything from a live tabla and sitar duo to a traditional Indian dance performance by one of the family friend's daughters.

And of course the dance floor was lit ablaze by DJ Kav, but boy do Indian people love to dance!

We had such a wonderful time at this wedding and look forward to being a part of many more cultural and unique events! Photo credits go to our personal friend Raul Lozano. Call him at 714-906-4082 for your event and make sure to mention GrooveBox Entertainment!

Eric's Surprise 40th Birthday Party

We had so much fun this Friday hosting Eric's surprise birthday party. The guests held nothing back when it came to taking part in the Fancy Pants theme of the night, featuring everyone from old school rock stars in skin-tight leather pants to the hippie-cultured CEO's of Silicon Valley. GrooveBox provided insane mix after mix for the seemingly tireless crowd, who couldn't get enough time on the dance floor. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the one and only Andrea Lanfriend, one of the best event coordinators we've had the honor of working with. Thanks for letting us be a part of your birthday Eric and we hope you had a wonderful 40th birthday!

Halloween Party 2013

Kevin is one of our regular clients and we've worked this event for him multiple times in the past. He's always a pleasure to work with and, like every other year, we had tons of fun getting everyone into the Halloween spirit. The costumes were spectacular and the personalities even more so!
Technically, this is a corporate event that Kevin hosts at his own home for his employees and their families as a fundraiser for Toys for Tots. We are so proud to be a part of such a beautiful and passionate cause with caring people. And the enthusiasm and energy everyone brought to the party made our job that much more fun. Thanks for a great night Kevin and we can't wait to see you again next year!

September 7th Jenn & Noel

This was by far one of the most fun weddings we've done in quite some time. From planning their wedding to set up to all the fun and games of the interactive package, Jenn and Noel and all of their family and friends were an absolute pleasure to work with. The gorgeous venue on Santa Barbara Avenue in Aliso Viejo along with the one of GrooveBox Entertainment's best lighting packages created an atmosphere that perfectly complimented the fun and outgoing mood of the audience. And everybody certainly had more than their fare share of souvenirs to remember the night by as the professional services of Capture the Moment Photo Booth and Nathan Nowack Photography managed to capture just about every aspect of the beautiful reception.

Between all the excitement and fun, Jenn & Noel managed to squeeze in this picture with their favorite MC!

May 13th Jeremy & Rachael

Held in an outdoor setting at the Temecula Creek Inn the weather could not have been more beautiful for such a special ceremony.  This young Christian couple had a full length ceremony including communion.

Even though it was a small party, everyone danced the entire reception.  We played a lot of Christian worship songs intermixed with easy listening and current top hits for both the dinner background and the dance program.  The rotating music styles really worked for this crowd.  The night ended at 9:30, with two lines of family and friends, that escorted the newlyweds out to the golf cart where they made their getaway.

Congratulations Rachael & Jeremy!

March 24th, 2012 Johnny & Amy

This cute couple met through a co-worker of Johnny's at Johnny Rockets, so there were a lot of Johnny Rockets employees present!  The wedding reception took place at the beautiful Green River Golf Club in Corona. http://www.playgreenriver.com/wedding.php?page_id=2240&name=Wedding_Events

Our extreme interaction package was put into use for this wedding.  During the Grand Entrance we kept a running commentary (laid out beforehand by the Bride and Groom) about each bridal party member as they entered, telling how they were connected to the Bride and Groom, plus lots of fun facts about them and their favorite activities.  The Grand Entrance was followed immediately by the First Dance and some heartfelt toasts.  We also arranged some fun activities for the guests throughout the night along with the usual lineup of parents dances, cake cutting, bouquet & garter toss, etc.

After dinner we had a flash mob performed by the Johnny Rockets crew and a choreographed dance from the bridal party that was a big hit.  The rest of the night was a lineup of classics, top 40, pop, and a sprinkle of Motown, all beat-mixed to perfection.

Congratulations to another fantastic GrooveBox couple!  .

March 17th, 2012 Amanda & Jason

Amanda and Jason's outdoor ceremony at the Muckenthaler Mansion was moved indoors due to rain but that didn't dampen this happy couple's spirits!  They were pronounced man and wife on dry ground and moved on to a fun reception.  We did a lot of interaction at this cozy wedding of close friends and family.

Amanda and Jason come from a creative bunch so there were some poems and songs performed in their honor by other couples and the entire evening was very high energy.  We enhanced the atmosphere with several purple uplights and dance floor lighting and finally wrapped up the night at closing time and sent the Bride and Groom on their way.

Rick with the catering company was a man of many talents and a great help to us as the day-of coordinator.

The photographer was Donny at Heavenly Portraits, we are contacting him to get some photos to share on the blog.

Congratulations Amanda & Jason, we wish you all the best!
